Looking for a way to brighten the dreary beginning of March?

The Pembroke Public Schools Music Department has a great suggestion: celebrate Music in Our Schools Month by attending one of the three free concerts offered this week at Pembroke High School, beginning at 6:30 PM.

Featuring students grade three to 12, the concerts provide the opportunity to see and hear the student chorus, band and orchestra. On Monday, March 9, All-Choral Night will be presented in the PHS gym. On Tuesday, March 10, the program continues with All-Band Night, also in the PHS Gym. On Thursday, March 12, All-String Night will take place in the PHS Auditorium.

A raffle will also be held to support of the Pembroke Association for the Performing Arts, which provides additional funding for performing arts programs at Pembroke Public Schools (Cash only).

Later this month, Pembroke Community Middle School will present "The Wizard of Oz" (Junior) at Pembroke High School on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, at 6:30 pm.

Pembroke High School Girls Basketball

Friday night, March 6, the Pembroke High School girls basketball team travels to Apponequet Regional High School for a game that will determine whether the Titans will continue to the MIAA Division III semifinals.

Pembroke’s March 3 defeat of the East Bridgewater Vikings was a cliffhanger. With just 5.6 seconds left, Alissa Marcella made a free throw to tip the score 44-43 in favor of Pembroke.

Apponequet also advanced by a narrow margin, defeating  Pope Francis 38-37 in its previous game.
